Hateful rhetoric puts US on dangerous road

- Len Chafetz, BocaRaton WinstonGrace, Lauderhill

We can thank “our” pathological lying president for the hatred and divisive rhetoric that is now commonplace in our society. From the beginning electoral primaries, where his opponents were lied about and demeaned, he continues this pattern in all of his tweets. It seems everyone is to blame for society’s ills, however, taking responsibility for his behavior and actions are not part of Trump’s pattern.

Disagreement about governmental policies will always be a part of our nation’s dialogue. Perpetuation of today’s hateful language can only lead to further violence and separation from humanity. Ultimately, we are in great danger of losing our democratic values. We will go from advise and consent to “do as I say.”

The states do have less tax revenue from such plans, but if federal funding were to offset the loss in tax revenue at the state level, the states would have an incentive to encouragemore self-funded health insurance plans. This would be of little or no political difficulty with most of Congress, andwould likely be greatly encouraged by both political parties. I would think this could create a plan both parties could agree on to make health insurance affordable and available for all people, regardless of preexisting conditions.
