Auberge sells final penthouse for $9.5M

- By Jennifer Boehm Staff writer

Auberge Beach Residences& Spa in Fort Lauderdale recently announced the $9.5 million sale of its final penthouse, topping its previous record sale of $8.9 million.

The two-story penthouse features five bedrooms, 61⁄ bathrooms and 5,686 square feet of interior space.

It showcases floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. A spiral staircase will provide access to a private rooftop terrace with plunge pool.

“The record-setting sale of the penthouse at Auberge Beach Residences& Spa is a clear indicator of the thriving demand for resortstyle living in the evolving Fort Lauderdale real estate market,” said Patrick Campbell, vice president of the Related Group, who along with Fortune International and Fairwinds Group developed the project.

The project is expected to be completed in 2018 and will feature 171 residences, including seven penthouses, divided among two towers. Prices for the penthouses began at $6.85 million.

Residents can take advantage of indoor and outdoor amenities including a spa, fitness center, golf simulator, swimming pools and two on-site restaurants.

There will also be a single-level underground garage that uses a mechanized valet-only system capable of stacking vehicles.

The site formerly belonged to Ireland’s Inn— a seven story, Sshaped hotel that opened in 1965 and closed in 2007.

Andy Mitchell, Ireland’s son-in-lawand CEO/president of the Fairwinds Group, said in a 2015 interview with the Sun Sentinel that some items and artwork from Ireland’s Inn would find their way into the new buildings.

Auberge owns hotels throughout theworld, including Mexico, Fiji and Costa Rica. Others are in Colorado and California, including a flagship resort in Napa Valley.

Plans for a Miami location near the Adrienne Arsht Performing Arts Center were dropped earlier this year. Reports attributed the decision to insufficient sales.
