More acts are expected to be named to the lineup, which is Miami’s first major country-music festival in recent memory. While there is clearly an appetite forNashville stars in South Florida, and LaborDayWeekend seems like a good spot on the calendar, the Tequila Bay festivalwould benefit fromsome diversity.

The 5-year-old Tortuga Music Festival at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park has drawn many attendees fromthe Miami area with amix of country hunks, rock and Americana acts, and spunky female performers such asKelsea Ballerini, Elle King and MarenMorris. While setting attendance records each April, Tortuga has become the gold standard not only for local country events, but nationally: It was recently named the Academy of CountryMusic’s Festival of the Year.
