Contrary to the “Fake news!” war cry, I believe the Sun Sentinel tries to present information and opinion in a way that gives a balanced view of attitudes and beliefs of its readership. Letters praising the president are printed alongside those that find him wanting.

What I cannot understand is the insistence from the pro-Trump camp that the media are shortchanging him (“Trump’s good deeds worth reporting,” Aug. 5). The letters are always the same; full of assertions and sweeping generalizations — the Obama years were an unmitigated disaster; Trump has accomplished marvelous things in such a short time; Trump won the election and is our president, so why are the media so reluctant to praise him for his achievements? These letters never enumerate the “great things” he has done. For once, I would like to see a letter that lists, item by item, each and every attainment of this great man, so we may thank our president for doing such a good job.
