Illegal lollipops and other forms of cannabis candies were seized along with 11 pounds of marijuana during an arrest Wednesday at a Coconut Creek home, police said.

After officers seized the drugs and $60,843 in cash, Michael Marks, 40, was arrested and charged with various counts of possession.

Coconut Creek Police were acting on a Crimestopppers tip about a man selling “large bulk quantities” of marijuana from his residence when they went to a home in the 3900 block of Carambola Circle North, immediately west of Tradewinds Park.

They found 11 ½ pounds of marijuana and 5.1 pounds of THC — tetrahydrocannabinol is the ingredient in cannabis that gets people high.

The THC included laced lollipops, gummy bears and worms, and oil cartridges used to smoke in vaporizers.

“Candies similar to these found their way into a Coconut Creek school last year, resulting in a child being transported to a local hospital via ambulance,” said Sgt. Brandi DelVecchio, a police spokeswoman. “With the start of school right around the corner, parents should speak to their children about the fact that drugs come in all different forms.”

Marks is being held in the Broward Main Jail on $3,000 bond.
