For the second consecutive day, Kentucky picked up a commitment from a Broward County cornerback.

Blanche Ely three-star senior Jamari Brown announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Twitter on Thursday afternoon after Dillard standout Stanley Garner did the same Wednesday night.

“They’re pretty much in the same mold,” Ely coach Calvin Davis said. “I don’t know how fast Stanley is, but Jamari’s in the 4.4 [40-yard dash] range. They picked up two really big commitments.

“I think it’s a good fit. He gets to play in the SEC.”

Like Garner, Brown is a long, athletic corner at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. He is the 63rd-ranked 2018 cornerback in the nation and No. 101 regardless of position in Florida, according to 247 Sports.

Brown also had offers from the likes of Auburn, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Oregon.

“I like everything about Kentucky,” he said. “It’s a great place, great coaches, feels like home, and when I went up there, everything just clicked.”

Brown is now the fifth Broward product committed to Kentucky in the 2018 recruiting class. He and Garner join the Chaminade-Madonna trio of lineman Davoan Hawkins and receivers Marvin Alexander and Akeem Hayes.

In the 2017 recruiting cycle, the Wildcats signed six prospects from Broward County and one more from Palm Beach.
