GAINESVILLE — Highly touted Florida freshman WR James Robinson is reportedly is in trouble again for a marijuana incident, his second in less than a year.

Robinson and LB Ventrell Miller, both first-year freshman from Lakeland, were cited for possession of the drug earlier this week.

Robinson, the Gators’ top offensive recruit in the 2017 class, was cited for marijuana possession Jan. 29 during a recruiting visit to Ohio State. The incident jeopardized Robinson’s scholarship offer to UF, but three days later the school ended up signing him.

Meanwhile, Miller currently is suspended with teammates for their roles in a scheme that involved misuse of school-issued funds.

In response to the latest incident involving the Robinson and Miller, a UF spokesman released a statement: “Coach Mac is aware and it has been dealt with.”

UFPD spokesman Maj. Brad Barber said Thursday Robinson and Miller were in a room at the Keys residential complex where an officer encountered smoke and found two small bags of marijuana.

A residential assistant smelled a “strong odor of burnt cannabis emanating in the air” around 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to the police report obtained by First Coast News in Jacksonville. The RA notified police who came to the room and confronted the two players.

TALLAHASSEE — Netflix series “Last Chance U” has been renewed for a third season, the company announced Thursday, and another former Florida State quarterback could be a strong focus for the documentary series.

The series will continue at Independence Community College in Kansas where former five-star QB Malik Henry transferred after his redshirt freshman season with the Seminoles in 2016.

“Last Chance U” filmed its first two seasons at East Mississippi Community College, the school former Seminoles QBs John Franklin III and De’Andre Johnson transferred to after ending their FSU careers. Former Florida State quarterback Clint Trickett was also a part of the series, serving as the school’s offensive coordinator.

Johnson, Trickett and Franklin, now a wide receiver, have all moved on to FAU, where Lane Kiffin enters his first season as head coach.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl named FSU DBs Nate Andrews, Ermon Lane and Trey Marshall; LBs Ro’Derrick Hoskins, Jacob Pugh and Matthew Thomas; and DT Derrick Nnadi to its watch list for the season.

Thomas, who has not practiced since Aug. 8, is expected to return to practice “very, very, very soon,” FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said after Thursday’s practice.
