Q: There is rough pavement in the two left lanes of northbound Interstate 95 between Atlantic Avenue and Belvedere Road in Boynton Beach. I see drivers trying to dodge these ruts allthe time and it’s a dangerous thing. It’s been thatway for a couple of years. Are they going to fix it? Lou Rosenthal, Delray Beach.

A: About seven miles of this 17-mile stretch of I-95 are scheduled to be resurfaced in both directions beginning sometime next year, according to the Florida Department of Transportation’s 5-Year Work Program. The repaving is expected to be done between the L-30 Canal bridge on the southern boundary of Boynton Beach and just south of Lantana Road in Lantana.

Some overpasses and ramps will also be repaved along the route including Woolbright, Hypoluxo and Lantana roads, and Gateway and Boynton Beach boulevards. Likewise, repaving is scheduled between Glades Road and Congress Avenue in Boca Raton as part of the ongoing Spanish River Boulevard Interchange project.

Q: I drive on Interstate 95 daily. There is an uneven patchwork of paved lanes that causes my tires to ride up and down, on and off different levels of blacktop. The beautifully painted lines lead meto think the project is fin-

A: No, that is part of the 95 Express Lanes Project in the northern half of Broward County that won’t be finished before 2020. I-95 is being resurfaced in stretches, which results in uneven lanes whilework on other parts of the project continues. Different crews are simultaneouslyworking on road widening, lane shifting, ramps, overpasses, lighting, signage and power lines.

About 90,000 tons of asphalt are being applied to I-95 in preparation for two express lanes in each direction between south of Broward Boulevard and Southwest 10th Street in Deerfield Beach.
