Robbers might have hit twice

Hollywood police are looking for three young men who they believe were behind two armed robberies during the same week late last month.

Both stickups were captured on surveillance video released Wednesday. Police hope the public might recognize the culprits.

The robberies happened Sept. 19 and Sept. 21, said Miranda Grossman, a spokeswoman for Hollywood Police.

Two of the men first held up a Shell gas station and convenience store, 815 N. Federal Highway.

They entered the store and waited for customers to clear out before one posed as a customer and drew a gun while the other went behind the counter and cleared out the cash register, the video showed.

Two days later, three men robbed a Subway restaurant, 2312 Hollywood Boulevard. One of the men went behind the counter and pointed a gun at an employee, the video showed.

“The suspect told the victim to stand back as he opened the cash register and took approximately $400,” Grossman said.

The three ran away from the scene.

Investigators urge anyone with information about the robbers or the robberies to contact the Hollywood Police Department’s detective bureau at 954-967-4411. Tipsters can also email or text to hollywoodpdtips@hollywoodfl.org.
