The hills are alive in South Florida this weekend as “The Sound of Music” takes the stage at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. The musical story of Maria and the von Trapp family runs through Oct. 22 at 201 SW Fifth Ave. Tickets start at $30 at browardcen­ter.org.

Families can also enjoy the Redland Growfest, Dwntwn Miami Arts Days, Boca Pumpkin Patch Festival and Fall Harvest Festival in Sunrise, or help raise funds for the grief therapy nonprofit organizati­on Tomorrow’s Rainbow at its Pony Jail ‘n Bale on Sunday.
