West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction appointed Brad Stull to chief estimator. Stull brings 20 years of experience through a broad range of construction projects across South Florida, including multifamily housing, hospitality, commercial and senior living facilities.
Professional development
Dr. Ronald C. Thomas Jr. has been selected as a trustee on the Florida Fire & Emergency Services Foundation. The foundation provides educational opportunities to fire and emergency services professionals and raises public awareness of the services they provide. Thomas is executive director for the Union Institute & University of Florida Academic Center.
Real Estate
Shane Allor has joined Turnberry Isle Miami as director of sales and marketing in Aventura. Allor has spent the past 15 years with Marriott Hotels & Resorts, most recently as director of sales and marketing for JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. Avison Young has established a new service line in Florida, Development Advisory Services, and Eric D. Swanson, commercial development and infrastructure executive, will lead it as senior vice president. Swanson was most recently a partner at Treadwell Franklin Infrastructure Capital LLC. Mike Moore has joined Tower Commercial Real Estate as the director of business development with the firm’s tenant representation division. Moore was most recently with Deloitte Consulting for the past 22 years.
Hospitality
Sean McDonald has joined Mizner Country Club in Delray Beach as executive chef, from Tulsa, where he was working at The Summit Club. Orlin McLendon joined as Chef de Cuisine. In 2007, McLendon launched his own company, In Home Dining, and also worked as a private executive chef.
Technology
Jerry Baker has joined Jupiter-based tevixMD, a provider of health care payment and patient identification solutions, as president.
Finance
Laura King has been promoted from commercial banker to Southeast Florida commercial banking manager at First Citizens Bank, based in Fort Lauderdale. She will provide financial services to businesses from South Martin County to Miami-Dade County.
Donald R. Quattrucci has been named regional director at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, responsible for leading business development efforts in southeast Florida, including recruiting, coaching and mentoring. Colonial Life has named Charles Hernandez as a new associate territory manager to oversee the company’s South Florida sales force serving small to large employers in all types of commercial and public sector organizations. He will seek to partner with members of the growing Latino business community.
Marine
Rick Levy has joined Nautical Ventures as sales manager in Dania Beach. The company is a supplier for boat/motor/watersport sales, accessories and service, operating under the banners of Nautical Ventures Marine Superstore, QPS Marine, and LukFuel. Levy was general sales manager of Sundance Marine until 2011, and over the next five years worked as sales manager and general sales manager of Rossmeyer’s Harley Davidson in Fort Lauderdale, and at Chesters Harley Davidson in Sunrise. Levy has overseen multistore marine sales facilities in New Jersey, Maryland and Florida.

Palm Beach Atlantic University has announced new faculty at its Rinker School of Business in West Palm Beach. Lawrence Burgee joined as a professor of marketing;
Mary Kay Copeland and Claire Nash joined as professors of accounting; and G. Lane
Cohee was named an associate professor of management. John Hayes was named founding director of the Titus Center for Franchis- ing.
Recognition
Dr. Alan J. Bauman of Bauman Medical in Boca Raton, has been recognized with the Crystal Diamond Award as “#1 Top Hair Restoration Surgeon” by Aesthetic Everything, a network of physicians and companies in the aesthetic products and services industry. Bauman is one of about 100 physicians worldwide to earn board certification from the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.
Youth Development
Anthony Talton has been promoted to club director of the Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club of Wellington, from his most recent role as program coordinator. Talton began at Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County about a year ago as the S.T.E.A.M. instructor for Marjorie S. Fisher Boys & Girls Club of West Palm Beach. Talton was previously self-employed as a vocal coach at The Sound School of Music. He is minister of music and assistant pastor at Westgate Tabernacle in West Palm Beach.

National Association of Corporate Directors, Florida chapter, the advocate for the profession of directorship, announced that Ruth Brophy, has joined the chapter’s board. Brophy is global chief financial and administrative officer at H.I.G. Capital in Miami.

Dr. Elizabeth Trattner, a Florida and national board-certified doctor of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, with a private practice in Miami Beach, has become an initiative committee member of the Beauty Meets Wellness Initiative, part of the Global Wellness Institute. The group educates the public and private sectors about good health and wellness worldwide.
