Islanders’ Kulemin to miss 6 months
Left wing Nikolay Kulemin had surgery to repair an upper-body injury and will be out for six months, the Islanders said Monday.
Kulemin, 31, could miss the rest of the regular season, which ends April 7. He was injured in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Oilers at Barclays Center on Nov. 7.
Kulemin has three points (goal, two assists) in 13 games this season.
Kuleimin signed a four-year, $16.75 million contract with the Islanders on July 2, 2014, and could become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
