Royal Palm mayor faces domestic battery charge
Royal Palm Beach Mayor Frederick Pinto has been arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery, court records show.
Palm Beach sheriff ’s deputies arrested Pinto, 67, Monday. He was booked into jail at 12:26 p.m.
Online court records do not identify the alleged victim.
At Tuesday morning first-appearance hearing, Pinto was released on his own recognizance and ordered to have “no violent contact with [the] victim,” records show.
Pinto’s next court hearing is scheduled for Dec. 11.
First elected to the Royal Palm Beach Council in 2003, Pinto was elected mayor in March 2016.
