Finalists are announced for Lou Groza High School Awards
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has released the finalists for the Lou Groza High School Awards.
Palm Beach Central cornerback Akeem Dent, Palm Beach Gardens safety Gurvan Hall and Benjamin quarterback Jordan Travis are the three finalists for Player of the Year.
Dent, a Florida State commit, has had a stellar defensive season with the Broncos as the team prepares for Friday’s Class 8A regional semifinals game versus Western.
Hall, who’s committed to Miami, was the anchor of the Gators’ defense this past season.
A dual-threat quarterback, Travis has been sensational for a Bucs team that will face ChaminadeMadonna in the Class 3A regional finals. Following in the footsteps of former Boynton Beach star Lamar Jackson, Travis is a Louisville commit.
The committee will also hand out awards for Kicker of the Year, Coach of the Year and Team of the Year at the Lou Groza Collegiate Place Kicker Award Banquet on Monday, December 4 at the Kravis Center.
