GOP’s tax cuts should hinge on job creation Read more online

- Eric Adams, Delray Beach Doug Campbell, Boca Raton

Has anyone asked corporations that will benefit from the GOP’s proposed tax cuts what they would do? Just ask some of the big ones that could spur the economy with the hundreds of thousands of new jobs they are supposed to create with increased revenue from lower taxes. Will they tell us what they would do? Could we trust their answers? Who knows, but it would be interesting to ask them and see if what is being proposed by the politicians will be put into place by businessmen.

Another angle is an amendment to the bill that would require corporations to increase jobs and benefits to their employees. To qualify for the tax cut they would have to show increases in inventory, production, efficiency, jobs and benefits. The money they save would not just go to corporate bank accounts or executives’ pockets. Without this they wouldn’t get the tax cut. SunSentinel.com/ opinion/letters

By comparison, the Owls’ coach, Lane Kiffin, runs a tight ship and I have yet to see any of his players take a knee during the national anthem, nor have the players shown any other signs of disrespect to our flag or country.

Incidentally, the Owls have a winning record, and are undefeated in conference play. Attendance has increased dramatically, while the Dolphins have a losing record and have seen a drop in attendance.

Gase thinks he’s in charge of the players but it’s the players who are in control. After 51 years of being a Dolphins season ticket holder, I will reassess renewing my 2018 season tickets subscription.
