AT&T is improving its network ahead of the busy holiday season.

A total of 140 cell sites throughout South Florida have been upgraded in order to increase data speeds and network performance for customers.

The Broward County areas benefiting from the network upgrades include Lauderhill, Coral Springs, Tamarac, Plantation, Sunrise, among others.

“AT&T works hard to deliver a great network experience for our customers, wherever they are,” said AT&T Florida President Joe York. “That’s why we continue to invest in our South Florida networks. Our investments will help customers get the most out of their mobile devices.”

The telecommunications company has already invested almost $975 million towards its wireless and wired networks across Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Monroe counties between 2014 and 2016.

The telecommunications company also recently announced a round of hiring that is expected to add 65 new positions to its Sunrise call center.

The company said it was looking to hire individuals to fill the role of call center sales representative.

“There’s never been a more exciting time to work for AT&T than now,” said Joe York, the AT&T Florida president.

“We’re mobilizing video, securing business communications from the smartphone to the cloud, and making cars, homes, machines, even cities, smarter.”

The call center jobs are in Sunrise at 8650 W. Oakland Park Blvd.
