Dates set for hazardous waste collection
The Cities of Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Tamarac, Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach have established a cooperative agreement that will allow city residents several opportunities to dispose of a full range of household hazardous materials at special one-day events throughout 2018.
Collection days are Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are as follows:
Dec. 2: Tamarac — 6011 Nob Hill Road
Jan. 13, 2018: Fort 2201 NW 9th Avenue
Feb. 3: Coral Springs — 121st Avenue
March 3: Coconut W. Copans Road
April 7: Fort NW 9th Avenue
May 5: Tamarac — Road
June 2: Pompano Beach — 1660 NE 10th Street
July 14: Fort NW 9th Avenue
Sept. 8: Coconut Creek — 4800 W. Copans Road
Oct. 6: Coral 121st Avenue

Aerosol products, ammonia, antifreeze, auto fluids, auto batteries, boat batteries, boat fluids, charcoal starter, compact flourescent lamps, drain cleaners, fertilizer, fire extinguishers, flourescent tubes, gasoline, herbicides, household cleaners, insecticide, kerosene, lawn chemicals, lighter fluid, mercury thermometers, motor oil, nail polish and remover, paint, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, propane tanks, rechargable batteries, rust remover, solvents, spot remover, turpentine, weed killer, wood stain, wood stripper

The $30 adoption fee covers spaying/neutering, flea and tick treatment, preliminary vaccinations and de-worming, wellness check, feline leukemia test, microchip, a bag of Purina ONE cat food, pet behavior helpline, 30-day trial of Trupanion Pet Insurance and limited 10-day follow-up care at participating VCA Animal Hospitals (restrictions apply, up to $250).
