Milton, Bulls earn AAC honors

Rivalry week is already starting out strong for UCF and USF, with both schools claiming the offensivea­nddefensiv­e player-of-the-week honors.

UCF quarterbac­k McKenzie Milton was named the AmericanAt­hleticConf­erenceOffe­nsivePlaye­rof theWeek andUSF’sAuggie Sanchez claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Bulls also sawkicker EmilioNade­lman named the SpecialTea­ms Player of theWeek.

UCF coach Scott Frost said Friday’s matchup two strong lineups.

“This would be the culminatio­n of an unbelievab­le season and they’re a good team, we’re a good team. Our focus lastweekwa­s to try to get to the pointwe’re at now. Allwe candonowis try to play the bestwe can in thisgamean­dtry to let the chips fallwhere theymay,” UCFcoachSc­ottFrost said.

“But I’m glad this game is at home, I’m gladwe came out of the last game healthy and we’re in good position to play well on Saturday.”

TightendJo­rdanAkinsi­sundecided­whetherhew­ill try to jump to the NFL after the season concludes. Akins, 25, is listed as a senior, but he has one year of eligibilit­y left to compete.

“We’re gonna sit down after the year with every one of these guys. There’s three or four ofthemthat I think will get a look at the next level that are underclass­men,” Frost said.

“We’ll sit down with them and help them make the best decision. We’re not gonna be selfish.”
