Milton, Bulls earn AAC honors
Rivalry week is already starting out strong for UCF and USF, with both schools claiming the offensiveanddefensive player-of-the-week honors.
UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton was named the AmericanAthleticConferenceOffensivePlayerof theWeek andUSF’sAuggie Sanchez claimed Defensive Player of the Week honors. The Bulls also sawkicker EmilioNadelman named the SpecialTeams Player of theWeek.
UCF coach Scott Frost said Friday’s matchup two strong lineups.
“This would be the culmination of an unbelievable season and they’re a good team, we’re a good team. Our focus lastweekwas to try to get to the pointwe’re at now. Allwe candonowis try to play the bestwe can in thisgameandtry to let the chips fallwhere theymay,” UCFcoachScottFrost said.
“But I’m glad this game is at home, I’m gladwe came out of the last game healthy and we’re in good position to play well on Saturday.”
TightendJordanAkinsisundecidedwhetherhewill try to jump to the NFL after the season concludes. Akins, 25, is listed as a senior, but he has one year of eligibility left to compete.
“We’re gonna sit down after the year with every one of these guys. There’s three or four ofthemthat I think will get a look at the next level that are underclassmen,” Frost said.
“We’ll sit down with them and help them make the best decision. We’re not gonna be selfish.”
