CHARLOTTE An MRI has confirmed no further damage to the left knee of sidelined Heat forward Justise Winslow than the strain reported by the team.

“Everything was fine, as we expected,” coach Erik Spoelstra said Friday, prior to his team facing the Hornets, with Winslow remaining behind in Miami.

“He’s going to just work the bike, a little bit of pool, conditioning, see how he feels after that. We’ll know more when we get back to Miami.”

Yahoo Sports reported that the hope is for Winslow, who reported the knee pain during Wednesday night’s loss to the Trail Blazers, leaving in the second quarter, could return in a week.

Spoelstra said there is no definitive timetable.

“I wouldn’t even say that right now,” he said of the one-week estimate. “We’ll just see how he responds to the work.”

Such a timetable would have Winslow also out for

The Heat remain without center Hassan Whiteside, who missed his eighth consecutive game Friday with a bone bruise on his left knee. Whiteside met with the team’s medical staff following Wednesday’s game.

“He’s able to do a little bit more work,” Spoelstra said. “We’ll slowly progress him on the court. We know it’ll be day-to-day, based on the next-day pain or any swelling.

“He’s not ready for that full practice right now.”

Still out for the Heat are forward Rodney McGruder, who has been sidelined since preseason leg surgery, and forward Okaro White, who has been out since mid-November foot surgery.

Spoelstra declined to offer a specific update on McGruder’s progress.

“I will not answer,”
