Impatient gunman suspected in several armed robberies

He has patience.

“Gimme all the money, hurry up, open it up, gimme all the money,” the hoodie-wearing man demands of the clerk at the BP gas station and convenienc­e store, 701 S. Federal Highway in Dania Beach.

He snatches from the clerk all the bills from the register’s drawer.

The robbery, one of at least six authoritie­s say he’s responsibl­e for in the past two months, took place about 8 p.m. Dec. 13. Surveillan­ce video was released by the Broward Sheriff ’s Office on Friday.

Unlike some security surveillan­ce systems, this one has audio that highlights the gunman’s impatience.

“Get on the ground, get on the ground, get on the ground. Hurry up, get on the ground, lay down, lay down, just lay down,” the gunman says before exiting the front door and casually waving goodbye.

The same robber is suspected of first striking on Sept. 19 at the Bonjour gun, but not lot of Food Market Beach and a Shell Hollywood.

According to federal investigat­ors, his next target was a Subway in Hollywood on Sept. 21, followed by a Shell gas station in Davie on Dec. 9 and BP and Shell gas stations in Fort Lauderdale on Dec. 13.

The gunman seen in the Dania Beach BP gas station robbery is thought to be in his 20s. At the time of the robbery he was wearing black athletic shoes, gray and black sweat pants and a black hoodie with NIKE printed in gray on the front, the sheriff’s office said.
