Aaron Holiday capped a 20-point performanc­e with a pivotal driving scoop and two free throws in the final 33 seconds, and UCLA upset No. 7 Kentucky 83-75 on Saturday at the CBS Classic in New Orleans.

Kris Wilkes also scored 20 points, and Thomas Welsh added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Bruins (9-3), who won for the seventh time in 15 meetings between these historical college basketball powerhouse­s.

Hamidou Diallo scored 18 points, Wenyen Gabriel added a season-high 16 and Kevin Knox had 15 for the Wildcats (9-2), who lost for the first time in eight games.

Kentucky went 6 of 21 from 3-point range and shot 42.6 percent overall.

Joel Berry II and Theo Pinson each scored 19 points, and No. 5 North Carolina bounced back from a loss to Wofford with a convincing 86-72 victory over Ohio State at the CBS Sports Classic.

Cameron Johnson, a graduate transfer from Pittsburgh, scored 13 points in just his second game for North Carolina (11-2), which hit 13 3-pointers. Jalek Felton scored 12 points on four 3s and Luke Maye grabbed 10 rebounds in an all-around performanc­e that also included nine points, four assists, two steals and a block.

Keita Bates-Diop had 26 points — one point shy of his career high — for Ohio State (10-4).

C.J. Jackson scored the Buckeyes’ first 11 points before finishing the game with 19, and Kaleb Wesson added 12.

Daxter Miles scored 21 points and Lamont West added 15 as No. 10 West Virginia defeated visiting Fordham 86-69.

Sagaba Konate and Jevon Carter each registered a double-double for the Moutaineer­s (11-1), who won their 11th in a row.

The 2018 CBS Sports Classic will be played in Chicago at the United Center on Dec. 22.

The fifth annual event will pit North Carolina against Kentucky and Ohio State against UCLA. Chicago also hosted the first Classic in 2014. AP
