“Latino USA” is coming to WLRN Radio.
The nationally syndicated show anchored by veteran broadcaster Maria Hinojosa explores news, politics, arts and culture from a Latino point of view.
Beginning Friday, the show will be broadcast 8 p.m. Fridays on WLRN, which can be heard on 91.3 FM in the Fort Lauderdale-Miami area and 91.3 FM or 101.9 FM (depending on location) in Palm Beach County.
“We’re so excited,” Hinojosa said in a video on Twitter about the show heading to Miami-based WLRN. “We tell the stories of all our America.”
The hour-long news magazine show is produced by the New Yorkbased nonprofit Futuro Media Group and is distributed by National Public Radio.
The weekly show’s topics have included looking at Disney’s relationship with Latin America; how families that have been separated by deportations

stay in touch through Skype; and the cultural importance of quinceaneras for teenage Latinas and how the tradition is a form of female empowerment.
The show is NPR’s only national Latino-themed news program.
Hinojosa, a former CNN reporter, founded the Futuro Media Group in 2010 to tell “stories often overlooked by mainstream media.”
She also hosts the PBS documentary series “America By The Numbers.”
