Weekend events include a hayride, campfire and the South Florida Fair.

Families in South Florida can try acting classes at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts open house, get fitness tips at Zo’s Winter Groove in Miami or catch the opening of the South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach this weekend.

But first, start the party early with Mom’s Night Out at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood on Thursday with the “IMomSoHard” duo of comedians Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley. Shakespear­e in the Park: Hamlet, through Sunday. “Hamlet” brings a full profession­al cast, period costumes and original music to Pinecrest Gardens, 11000 Red Road. The shows have amphitheat­er-style seating under a dome that covers the audience and stage, and no outside food or drink is allowed.
