SOUTH FLORIDA SUITORS

- By Johnny Diaz Staff writer

Three local women are competing for the heart of this season’s “Bachelor.”

South Florida viewers may have spotted three local suitors when ABC’s “The Bachelor” reality-romance series returned Jan. 1.

The show, which airs 8 p.m. Mondays, introduced 29 women seeking the heart of new bachelor and former racecar driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. for the show’s 22nd season.

So who are the South Florida ladies vying for his heart this season?

Bibiana Julian: 30, of Miami, executive assistant.

She’s a former Miami Dolphins cheerleader who was named “rookie of the year’” and served as cocaptain of the team. She was also voted “America’s Sexiest Cheerleader” in 2006 by FHM magazine.

She has three tattoos, “hearts with my sister’s initials on my left wrist and an anchor on my right wrist, but I don’t really like that one,” she told ABC.com

The show’s host, Chris Harrison, described her as one of his top five contestants for this season. He told People.com that “she has a big personality and has her own pithy observations and judgments, and she’s not afraid to make those known. She has no fears about standing up for herself or to anybody.”

Ashley Luebke: 25, of West Palm Beach, real estate agent.

In the show’s season opener, she clenched a checkered race flag when she stepped out of the limo and introduced herself to Luyendyk Jr.

“I don’t remember what I even said in this moment,’’ she posted on Instagram about the Jan. 1 episode.

The Palm Beach County native, who loves surfing, attended Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts in West Palm Beach as a dance major, according to her Facebook page.

She then graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor’s degree in business management.

She said that she was drawn to real estate as a career because her family is “in the home renovation and contracting business.”

She said she’s been a licensed real estate sales associate since 2014. She works for Illustrated Properties in West Palm Beach.

Caroline Lunny: 26, of Fort Lauderdale, Realtor

She’s from Holliston, Mass., where she grew up around cars. A former cheerleader, Lunny won Miss Teen USA Massachusetts in 2008. She now lives in Fort Lauderdale, where she sells real estate.

“Family is really important to me,’’ she told ABC during a preview. “Finding a husband and having kids is at the top of my priority list.”

When asked what being married means to her, she told ABC.com, “It means waking up next to your best friend forever. It means never quitting. It means never being too old to be silly or dance in the rain.
