The international chain of Nikki Beach beach clubs has unveiled a second location of Key West in the South of Fifth neighborhood, joining its Dubai sibling.

“I spent my youth spearfishing in the Florida Keys,” says owner Jack Penrod, who grew up in Homestead. “The day I graduated from high school, I hitchhiked to the Florida Keys and knocked on every door until I found a job.”

Floridian and Caribbean flavors influence the seafood-centric menu.

“I have fond memories of eating whole fish, coconut shrimp and Key lime pie, so those are all staples,” he says. “My alltime favorite is lobster. One day, I caught so many that I ate 13 lobsters at home.”

Those memories spin into the A1A coconut shrimp ($13), whole yellowtail snapper stuffed with crab, lobster and shrimp ($30) and the five-seafood Key West platter ($85).

An extensive collection of rums ($9-$75) complements cocktails such as the Florida Keys Daiquiri with guava ($13).

Dinner is served nightly, except Sundays, amid a beachy chic atmosphere with light woods, greenery, a fresh fish display, blue and green pillows lining beige banquettes, homey shelves and a moss ceiling. An LED-lit indoor-outdoor bar bridges to the patio.
