DIAMONDBAC­KS: The Diamondbac­ks announced Tuesday they are bringing back the bullpen cart to transport relief pitchers to the mound at Chase Field. The last known use of a motorized vehicle in Major League Baseball was in 1995, when the Brewers used a motorcycle with a sidecar. Diamondbac­ks bullpen coach Mike Fetters was the Brewers’ closer that season.

RANGERS: RHP Tim Lincecum passed a physical and finalized a oneyear, $1 million contract to return to the majors for the first time in two years. The 33-year-old four-time All-Star, who will be used as a reliever by the Rangers, will wear No. 44 to honor his deceased older brother, who wore it as an amateur.

MARINERS: OF Ichiro Suzuki, 44, reached an agreement with the Mariners on a one-year deal pending the outcome of a physical. He spent his first 11-plus major-league seasons with the Mariners and is their career leader in average (.322), hits (2,533) and stolen bases (438).

ROYALS: OF Jon Jay agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract with the Royals, a deal that allows him to earn an additional $1.5 million in performanc­e bonuses. Jay hit .296 with two homers and 34 RBIs in 141 games last season with the Cubs, including 13-for-40 (.325) as a pinch hitter.

EXTRA INNINGS: Nationals LHP Seth Romero, the 25th overall pick in last year’s amateur draft, was sent home from spring training for violating curfew ... The Athletics released DH Brandon Moss, who had been designated for assignment when LHP Jairo Labourt was claimed off waivers from the Reds last weekend . ... RHP Yu Darvish threw two hitless innings against his former team and struck out four as the Cubs beat the Dodgers 9-5.
