‘Modern Family’ cast supports D.C. march

Add the cast of ABC’s “Modern Family” to the growing number of celebritie­s supporting the “March For Our Lives” demonstrat­ion in Washington, D.C. that is being organized by students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

Cast members of the sitcom including Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara and Ed O’Neill appear in a oneminute public service announceme­nt for Everytown for Gun Safety, the NewYork based nonprofit working with the Parkland stu“Never dents on the event.

“We send our support and condolence­s to the students of Parkland,” begins Jesse Tyler Ferguson in the PSA.

“Your bravery and resolve in response to this senseless tragedy inspires us and gives us hope,” says Bowen.

“So thank you for taking on this challenge,” says Vergara.

“We stand with you,” says Ty Burrell.

“And we will be right there by your side as Americans take to the streets on March 24th,” adds O’Neill who is followed by other cast members declaring Again,” the slogan and hashtag for the movement on gun control and safety.

Other celebritie­s including Jimmy Fallon and George and Amal Clooney have also said that they would take part in the walk.

The couple pledged a $500,000 donation for the event. Oprah Winfrey, who has called the Parkland students “warriors of the light’’ said she would match the Clooneys’ $500,000 donation for the event. And last week, celebrity couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen said they too were donating $25,000 to the demonstrat­ion.
