Wednesday’s game: RF Isaac Galloway’s two-run, opposite-field double off the fence with two outs in the top of the ninth gave the Marlins a 7-6 win against the Astros. Earlier, Galloway collided with 2B Isan Diaz while pursuing a blooper near the right-field line, which dropped for a double. Diaz, a highly regarded prospect acquired in the Christian Yelich trade, left with an injury to his left knee . ... Marlins starter Justin Nicolino served a two-run homer to American League MVP Jose Altuve, who drove a 3-0 fastball to center over the 406-foot sign in the first inning. Nicolino, out of minor league options and attempting to make the team as a starter or reliever, needed 45 pitches to complete two innings. He stranded two runners in scoring position in the second by striking out All-Star CF George Springer. Nicolino said he has abandoned his cut-fastball in favor of a slider, which he got Springer to swing through. The lefty said the adjustment has helped all his pitches as he is more on top of the ball in his delivery. “Worked out of the jam in the second inning. For me that was huge because in the past maybe one or two runs score there,” Nicolino said.
