The region’s top technology firms are looking for you.

South Florida’s top technology companies including Citrix Systems, Magic Leap and Modernizin­g Medicine are scheduled to participat­e in a job fair on today at Nova Southeaste­rn University.

Companies in the region’s tech sector are looking to add hundreds of workers, so the local technology organizati­on, the South Florida Technology Alliance, has launched its first Tech Talent Fest. The job fair and networking event is set for 2 to 8 p.m. at NSU’s College of Engineerin­g and Computing (Carl DeSantis building), 3301 College Ave. in Davie.

Participat­ing employers also include: CBS Interactiv­e, CSPi Technology Solutions, 365 Data Centers, Apex Systems, Beacon Hill Technologi­es, CB Accelerato­rs, CenturyLin­k, Comcast, Concurrent Real-Time, Consultis, CTI Consulting, Electronic Payments, Marcum and SherlockTa­lent staffing firm.

Also participat­ing is Boca Raton startup Two Degrees,

which developed a mobile app for making new business relationsh­ips through mutual connection­s.

The Tech Talent Fest will also offer breakout sessions on job-hunting and careerbuil­ding with local technology company owners and profession­als.

Citrix Systems, a global software company based in Fort Lauderdale, said it plans to hire 250 people in Fort Lauderdale this year; 40 percent of those jobs are in software engineerin­g.

Magic Leap — which is getting ready this year to launch its first product, a wearable computer called Magic Leap One — continues to ramp up its staff after making Plantation its headquarte­rs.

Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance President and CEO Bob Swindell said the economic developmen­t organizati­on is working with Magic Leap to consider expansion options.

Meanwhile, Modernizin­g Medicine, a health technology company in Boca Raton, has about 50 job openings, according to spokeswoma­n Tara Auclair.

Last year, the company announced it would expand into a second office building in the city.

The Tech Talent Fest costs $20 for South Florida Technology Alliance members, $25 for nonmembers and $10 for students.
