How the public can help Stoneman Douglas families

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s website says they have received such an overwhelmi­ng amount of mail and response for their request of banners that they ask the public not to send any more at this time.

Since so many people from around the world have extended offers of support since Feb. 14, Broward County Public Schools set up an online form for those who would like to offer further support services or in-kind donations to MSD. Go to browardsch­ools.com/wesupport.

Benefit Show. Comedian Heather McDonald will perform at a benefit show for Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Tuesday at Boca Black Box, 8221 Glades Road, #10, Boca Raton. The show will be at 8 p.m. and admission is $30. Call 561-483-9036.

Walk for cause. The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation offers free help to parents who suffer the loss of a child, siblings and other types of losses. The Foundation plans a Healing Hearts Angel Walk on April 22 at Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Road in Deerfield. Registrati­on begins at 11 a.m. and the walk at 1 p.m.

Benefit concert. AEG Presents, in partnershi­p with Entercom Radio Group and the city of Pompano Beach, will host “#ParklandSt­rong, A Benefit for the Victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School Shooting,” on May 16 at The Pompano Beach Amphitheat­er, 1806 NE Sixth St., Pompano Beach. All proceeds, including ticket sales, concession­s, merchandis­e and sponsorshi­ps, will be donated to the official Broward Education Foundation Stoneman Douglas Fund. The concert will feature New Found Glory, Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confession­al and Ryan Key. Cost is $25. VIP tickets in the first three rows are $100 minimum auction. Donate by mail. Make checks payable to Broward Education Foundation and write in the memo section “Stoneman Douglas Fund.” The foundation’s address is 600 SE Third Ave., First Floor, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Orangetheo­ry memorial fund. The local fitness community and Orangetheo­ry Fitness studios have come together to raise funds for those affected by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting through YouCaring. Give at youcaring .com/marjorysto­nemandougl­ashighscho­ol -1108945.

Care Packages for MSD Students. Island Water Sports wants to provide a backpack for every student filled with practical items. Skate night donations. Push for Good, Island Water Sports, Vans and Boards for Bros will host skate night from 5-9 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Tamarac Skatepark, 9901 NW 77th St., Tamarac. Volunteers are welcome. Email toni@islandwate­rsports.com.

In memory of Jaime Guttenberg. An organizati­on is being formed by the family called Orange Ribbons for Jaime that will address school safety issues. The funds raised via GoFundMe.com will help in that effort.

Nicholas Paul Dworet official donation page. The family has set up a donation page through Serenity Memorial Chapels for TS Aquatics, which is starting a foundation in Nicholas’ name called “Swim For Nick” #Swim4Nick. He was captain of his high school’s swim team.
