How you can help Stoneman Douglas families

The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s website says they have received such an overwhelming amount of mail and response for their request for banners that they ask the public not to send any more at this time.

Since so many people from around the world have extended offers of support since Feb. 14, Broward County Public Schools set up an online form for those who would like to offer further support services or in-kind donations to MSD. Go to browardschools.com /wesupport.

Comfort By Candlelight. Christian recording artist Kathy Troccoli has been asked to bring her current tour to South Florida to provide an evening of comfort and hope to the community, family and friends of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students. The free concert will take place on Thursday at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel, 11775 Heron Bay Blvd., Coral Springs. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. While the concert is free, people attending are asked to bring a ticket, which they can find and print at itickets.com.

We Are Stoneman Douglas Fundraiser. The Parkland Golf & Country Club, along with the Parkland Golf & Country Club Foundation Inc., will host a fundraiser on April 8 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Parkland Sports Club, 10001 Old Club Road. All proceeds go to the Broward Education Foundation, the official organization raising money for the students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. Tickets purchased through April 1 are $150. Tickets purchased between April 2-8, are $175. Festivities include food stations from 25 restaurants, wine and craft beer stations, silent auction, entertainment by MSD students and alumni. Event emceed by Y-100’s Chris Cruz. 17 Acts of Kindness. The staff and friends of North Regional/Broward College Library will donate goods to people experiencing homelessness in the community in memory of the 17 students and teachers who died. Suggested items include shampoo, soap, hand lotion, toothpaste, deodorant, comb, razor, chapstick, socks and granola bars. Walk for cause. The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation offers free help to parents who suffer the loss of a child, siblings and other types of losses. The Foundation plans a Healing Hearts Angel Walk on April 22 at Quiet Waters Park, 401 S. Powerline Road, in Deerfield. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the walk at 1 p.m.

Eat and give. This year, the Diamonds and Donuts Super Car Show on April 29 will include a charity barbecue for #MSDstrong. The charity barbecue starts at noon. Wristbands will be available for charity from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Free. Diamonds By Raymond Lee, 2801 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton.

Benefit concert. AEG Presents, in partnership with Entercom Radio Group and the city of Pompano Beach, will host “#ParklandStrong, A Benefit for the Victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School Shooting” on May 16 at The Pompano Beach Amphitheater, 1806 NE Sixth St., Pompano Beach. All proceeds, including ticket sales, concessions, merchandise and sponsorships, will be donated to the official Broward Education Foundation Stoneman Douglas Fund. The concert will feature New Found Glory; Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional; and Ryan Key. Cost is $25. VIP tickets in the first three rows are $100 minimum auction. Skate night donations. Push for Good, Island Water Sports, Vans and Boards for Bros will host skate night from 5-9 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at Tamarac Skatepark, 9901 NW 77 St., Tamarac. Buy a T-shirt. The Parkland PTA/PTO has organized a fundraiser selling Tshirts online. Proceeds will go to the victims’ families, first responders and the Stoneman Douglas High School Memorial Fund. Call 833-472-7552.

Send students to Washington. A GoFundMe account has been set up for Marjory Stoneman Douglas students to fly to the nation’s Capitol to speak with the Senate about having a hearing on gun control.

Give from the heart. The Broward Health Foundation is looking to benefit individuals and families affected by the shooting. The nonprofit fundraising arm of Broward Health is launching a public version of its “Give from the Heart” campaign and is reaching out to current contributors to the foundation and its community partners. All money raised will be combined with the results of an employee giving campaign. In memory of Jaime Guttenberg. An organization called Orange Ribbons that will address school safety issues is being formed by the family. Funds raised via GoFundMe.com in that effort.

Nicholas Paul Dworet official donation page. The family has set up a donation page through Serenity Memorial Chapels for will help TS Aquatics, which is starting a foundation in Nicholas’ name called “Swim For Nick” #Swim4Nick. He was captain of his high school’s swim team.
