The New York Islanders are chipping in to help out Marjory Stoneman Douglas victims and their families, donating all proceeds from a special ticket offer for Monday night’s game against the Florida Panthers to the Broward Education Foundation.

The organization announced the plan Sunday evening, and raised $7,550 for the foundation.

Seventeen people were killed at Stoneman Douglas on Feb. 14 in a school shooting.

The Panthers have been active in the wake of the tragedy, honoring the victims with a pregame ceremony on Feb. 22 that included Parkland resident Roberto Luongo’s emotional speech. They also hosted a blood drive that day and the NHL and Florida Panthers Foundation donated $50,000 to the 50/ 50 Raffle benefiting the Broward Education Foundation.

The team is wearing Stoneman Douglas decals on its helmets and “MSD” patches on its jerseys.

The Panthers also hosted the Stoneman Douglas club hockey team for the game on Feb. 22, greeting the players before they won the Florida state title that weekend. Philadelphia’s Shayne Gostisbehere and Otttawa’s Craig Anderson also hosted the team when their teams visited Sunrise.

Stoneman Douglas participated in the 2018 High School National Championships over the weekend in Plymouth, Minn., going 1-2-0. The Eagles lost, 7-1, to Regis Jesuit (Colo.) on Thursday, and, 13-3, to Edina (Minn.) on Friday before beating Lake Central (Ind.), 3-2, in overtime on Saturday.

The team flew to Minnesota on the Panthers’ team plane, provided by the team and Swift Air. The Panthers and the NHL also teamed up to surprise Stoneman Douglas with the Stanley Cup after a recent practice at the BB&T Center.
