South Florida’s holiday weekend filled with fun

A fun fitness event in West Palm Beach, Disney on Ice at the BB&T Center and a free family festival in Doral are lined up for the holiday weekend in South Florida.

Plus, the final wave of egg hunts is planned in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties, along with other bunny-related events, including an Egg Safari at Zoo Miami, Breakfast with the Bunny at the Palm Beach Zoo and Young At Art’s egg-drop challenge in Davie.

The Fort Lauderdale Auto Show is also this weekend at the Broward County Convention Center.

Following are some of South Florida Parenting’s top picks for weekend fun for families:

Disney on Ice: Reach for the Stars, through Monday. Ice show featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy, plus Anna, Elsa and Olaf from “Frozen,” Sebastian and Ariel from “The Little Mermaid,” Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from “Tangled” and “Beauty & the Beast.” $16-$65. Fort Lauderdale Internatio­nal Auto Show, through Sunday. Featuring more than 500 of the world’s leading cars, trucks, SUVs and motorcycle­s, the show offers a first look at many new 2018 and 2019 models. $3-$8; free for 5 and under. Fishing Fun, today, 10 a.m. Learn the basics of freshwater fishing and practice learned skills. Class includes: fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identifica­tion. District Fit, today and Saturday. CityPlace and Hilton West Palm Beach host a two-day festival filled with free fitness classes and fun for kids and adults. Highlights include kids boot camps by CrossFit El Cid at 8:30 a.m. (Hilton) and 10 a.m. (CityPlace) on Saturday morning, plus Crossfit, Barre, Cardio Dance and Body Combat classes and a poolside siesta at the Hilton. All classes are free, but RSVP is required at districtfi­twpb.com. Each class member will get a Wanderer bracelet, a bottle of Hope Water and a workout towel from LifeFitnes­s.
