Susan Krajsa has been promoted, from executive vice president, presenting, to president of Broadway Across America, a part of The John Gore Organization family of companies, which includes Broadway.com, The Broadway Channel, BroadwayBox.com and Group Sales Box Office. Krajsa oversees the relationships with the theatrical presenting institutions and partners in BAA’s 44 cities and supervises the regional management team for North America’s largest theatrical touring business. Pérez Art Museum Miami has named Douglas
C. Evans to the newly created positon of chief development officer. Prior to this appointment, Evans was executive director of the Stamford Center for the Arts in Stamford, Conn. New leadership of the Cultural Affairs Division in Pompano Beach was announced recently.
Earl Bosworth will be the assistant city manager to oversee all cultural affairs and operation of the city’s cultural venues, which include the new Pompano Beach Cultural Center, Ali Cultural Center, Bailey Contemporary Arts Center and Amphitheatre. He officially joins the city of Pompano Beach on June 4. Bosworth is currently director of the Broward County Cultural Division, and served as president/chief executive officer of ArtServe, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale and assistant director of the Cultural Division for the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. He was also acting director of Broward County Animal Care and Regulation Division and also administrative manager for the Broward County Consumer Affairs Division. Additionally, Phyllis Korab was named cultural affairs director, having worked in that capacity for the last year.
Education
Nova Southeastern University announced Alan B.
Levan as chairman of its board of trustees. He is chairman and chief executive officer of BBX Capital Corp. and chairman of Bluegreen Vacations Corp. Levan has served on the university’s board for 18 years; he was nominated and voted on by the board to serve as its chairman for an initial three-year term. He takes on this responsibility following the leadership of Ron Assaf, co-founder of Sensormatic Electronics, who is stepping down as chairman after 13 years, but will remain on the board.
Chamber
The Board of Directors of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce has changed the titles of its executive staff in order to better reflect the scope of their responsibilities and align the agency with other chambers around the state. Longtime leader Laurel Baker’s title has changed from executive director to chief executive officer, and Sandy Coto’s title has changed from member relations director to vice president of member engagement. The leader of the board of directors, a position currently held by Palm Beach business owner Carrie Bradburn, is changing from board president to board chair.
Finance
Coral Gables-based Marquis Bank announced that Elsa C. Soler was named senior vice president and controller. Prior to joining Marquis, she was senior vice president and controller at Gibralter Private Bank & Trust. She has also held the controller position at Total Bank and BankUnited Financial Corp. Earlier in her career she was regional finance officer at Regions Financial Corp.
Nonprofit
SunServe, the Fort Lauderdale-based LGBTQIA+ social services agency, announced new appointments: Tiffany Arieagus to director of case management, and Gary
Hensley to the newly created position of director of quality assurance. Arieagus and Hensley both joined the organization in 2013 and were most recently leading housing case manager supervisor, and director of case management, respectively. Lisset Ivey, with the organization since 2016, has been promoted from housing case manager to lead housing case manager supervisor. Elana Naranjo joined SunServe in Wilton Manors as staff therapist in the mental health department. Most recently Naranjo was the program director of adult residential treatment and stabilization at Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services. Tori Bertran, on staff since 2015, has been promoted from lead life coach to the director of youth services. Sobourney Barnes was promoted from life coach to lead life coach in the youth department. Barnes has been on staff since December 2014. Mandi Hawke, with SunServe since 2011 as the director of youth services, to the newly created postion of director of human resources.
Daniel Polen, a marketing and operations manager at Photo and Go LLC in Boca Raton, recently joined the American Association of CaregivingYouth board, where he has also volunteered as a mentor for nearly two years.
Real estate
Colliers International South Florida has launched a local, dedicated Healthcare Services practice and added commercial brokers Michael Brown and
Christine O’Connor as senior vice presidents. Currently a director on the national steering committee of Colliers Global Life Science Practice Group, Brown brings more than 40 years of experience with sophisticated research and critical process facilities such as molecule research and manufacturing plants as well as medical device manufacturing. O’Connor has worked as an in-house director of corporate real estate for multiple companies with portfolios across the Americas, most recently with Boca Raton-based Tyco International. EWM Realty International, one of the nation’s largest residential real estate firms, recently announced that Sean Person and
Brian Williams, assistant managers with the company, have been promoted to vice presidents and co-sales managers of the firm’s Weston Town Center office. United Realty Group announces the addition of Mark Dreyer as vice president of the commercial division. He was previously senior director of commercial real estate at Remax Advantage Plus of Boca Raton.
Burt Minkoff joined Douglas Elliman from Corcoran and will be based out of Elliman’s Palm Beach Office. Minkoff ’s career began in New York, where he co-founded Mediaworks Inc., and remained its chief executive officer for 17 years.
