Crime in Broward schools greater than stats show

I spent seven years as a school bus operator, so I am innately familiar with issues plaguing the administrators. If a school is a “tough” school, then the district does look harder at those schools and the administrator may be removed. The BCPS system does have its own police and investigative unit. Superintendent Runcie came from Chicago, and perhaps he would have not gotten his raise if the true stats were reported. Perhaps the governor can remove him for “dereliction of duty.”

There was one student that (the last week of school) a couple of years ago did get a ride home in the back of a BSO cruiser because he pulled the driver air-seat connection and the bus lost its air-brakes. Referrals don’t work. Was it reported? I doubt it. It was in the “rough” school and the student threatened violence against the operator. He was still riding. Timmothy Russo, Pompano Beach
