Job fair coming up

More than 60 companies are scheduled to attend the job fair, according to event organizer Job News USA.

Organizers say 3,000 positions will be available at the event in Sunrise on Thursday.

Need a job? About 3,000 positions will be available at a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the BB&T Center, 1 Panther Parkway in Sunrise.

More than 60 companies are scheduled to attend the job fair, according to event organizer Job News USA. Employers include Seminole Casinos; Anda Pharmaceut­icals in Weston; ADT security in Boca Raton; Rick Case Automotive Group in Davie; Hilton Software in Coral Springs; Aldi discount grocer in South Florida; Turbine Controls in Miramar; Florida Panthers and Miami Dolphins sports team operations; Chewy online pet retailer in Hollywood; City Furniture’s headquarte­rs and warehouse in Tamarac; and IT’Sugar retail stores throughout South Florida.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is hiring for its new guitarshap­ed hotel in Hollywood, as well as for other jobs, said fair coordinato­r Tiffany Cordeschi. Jobs available include assistant manager, bartender, casual dining assistant manager, cocktail servers, pastry cook and sous chefs, table game managers, IT systems analyst and project manager, and security officers.

Job News USA recommends job-seekers dress profession­ally and have a clear career focus when speaking with employers. Organizers ask that participan­ts don’t bring children to the job fair or carry a large purse, which can hold up security. Parking is free.
