Find out who’s running for office

-

The candidates for the Aug. 28 primary and Nov. 6 midterm elections are set.

A new Broward County School Board majority, galvanized by the Parkland massacre in February, could take control in August as a surge of candidates seek seats on the panel. Among the 15 candidates for five seats are two parents whose children were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14.

An 18-year-old who graduated in June from Stoneman Douglas is seeking a seat on the Parkland City Commission.

A Palm Beach County Commission seat long held by Republicans has a good chance of going Democratic in November after the GOP candidate decided at the last minute not to run.

The deadline to register to vote in the Aug. 28 primary is July 30.
