Tap 42 aims for comfort at Aventura
Tap 42
This 6-year-old popular gastropub mini chain, founded in Fort Lauderdale with 42 beers and cocktails on tap, has opened its third Miami-Dade County location — its biggest yet — in Aventura Mall’s new wing.
“While we will always stay true to our roots with the chic industrial feel and wood features, we wanted to step up the comfortability for the Aventura clientele, featuring cool and comfortable booths fitting parties of two to 10 people,” coowner Alex Rudolph says. “Being on the second floor also gives our massive patio an amazing rooftop feel, with outdoor booths and lounge areas.”
Signatures include crispy Asian calamari tower ($14.50), the Prohibition burger ($14.50), truffle filet mignon sandwich ($18.50) and grilled salmon zen rice bowl with truffle miso glaze ($21.50).
“This year, we focused heavily on creating approachable and casual meals specifically for the dinner service,” Rudolph said. Examples are grilled Gulf snapper ($21.50), rainbow sushi bowl ($21.50) and flame-grilled New York strip steak ($28.50).
Vanilla frosting and sprinkles coat the rim of the new ice-cream cookie super sundae in an eye-popping presentation ($10).
Seasonal cocktails ($12), such as pecancoffee old-fashioned with bourbon and the Peachy Lychee with vodka, complement more than 30 whiskeys ($10-$45).
Lunch and dinner are served daily, plus weekend brunch, amid a lively vibe. DJs will spin on Friday nights and during brunch later this summer.
