Dee Ann Andretti, the wife of famed driver Mario Andretti and matriarch of one of the most prominent families in motorsport­s, has died. She was 76. Andretti died Tuesday, a few weeks after suffering a heart attack. Grandson Marco Andretti announced her death on social media, posting: “RIP Grammy Andretti. You will be missed.” The IndyCar Series later confirmed her death . ... Struggling Formula One outfit McLaren accepted Eric Boullier’s resignatio­n as racing director and announced a restructur­ing of its leadership. Boullier, who joined the British team in 2014, had overseen its worst run in its 52-year history. McLaren has not won a race since 2012 and hasn’t landed a podium position in more than four years. BOXING: James DeGale vacated his IBF super middleweig­ht title. “I have relinquish­ed my IBF title as I look to secure big fights in the final chapter of my career,” DeGale, 32, wrote on Twitter. DeGale became the first British Olympic gold medalist to win a profession­al world title in 2015.

COLLEGES: ESPN reported Georgia sophomore QB Jake Fromm suffered a small fracture in his non-throwing left hand in a boating accident Monday. Coach Kirby Smart said Fromm won’t miss any summer workouts . ... U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan said he never knew of sexual abuse by a now-dead doctor who examined wrestlers Jordan helped coach decades ago at Ohio State. Two ex-wrestlers say the powerful Republican congressma­n from Ohio knew back then that Richard Strauss was groping male wrestlers. Jordan spoke to reporters at a July Fourth rally in Fremont and said he knew Strauss but wasn’t aware of abuse by him.

NBA: C Amir Johnson is going back to the 76ers next season. Johnson has struck a one-year deal to return to the team, a person with knowledge of the negotiatio­ns told the Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal remains unsigned. Johnson averaged 4.6 points per game last season . ... The Cavaliers signed G Collin Sexton to his rookie contract. Sexton was the No. 8 overall pick in last month’s draft. Sexton, 19, averaged 19.2 points as a freshman at Alabama and led the school to its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2012 . ... The NBA estimates an increase of 40,000 miles of travel in the postseason if it scrapped its current conference format and seeded 1 to 16. Calls to change the system were renewed this week when LeBron James left the Cavaliers for the Lakers.

SOCCER: David Beckham’s latest soccer plan for Miami might be decided by the city’s voters. Beckham is scheduled to appear before the Miami city commission next week as he and his partners aim to move closer to picking a stadium location for their MLS franchise. The Beckham group’s latest proposal calls for a 28,000seat stadium on the site of what is now the Melreese Country Club, a public golf course owned by the city that sits near Miami Internatio­nal Airport . ... Inter Milan signed Argentina F Lautaro Martinez from Racing to a five-year, $25.7 million contract. Martinez, 20, turned down an offer from Real Madrid in order to get more playing time at Inter.
