Indians: LHPAndrew Miller is unlikely to pitch until after the All-Star break as he continues to recover from an injured right knee. Miller has been on the disabled list since May 26 with inflammati­on in his knee. He threw 31 pitches off a mound on Thursday and manager Terry Francona said the session went well. ... RHPCarlos Carrascowa­s activated to make his first start since June 16, when he was struck with a line drive.

Mets: RHP Jenrry Mejia was granted conditiona­l reinstatem­ent from his lifetime drug suspension and could return for the 2019 season. Mejia became the first player suspended for life under MLB’s drug program in February 2016 following his third positive test for a banned steroid. He was allowed to apply for reinstatem­ent one year later. Commission­er RobManfred said Mejia may participat­e in nonpublic workouts in the team’s facilities after the All-Star break and will be eligible for a rehabilita­tion assignment in mid-August.

Cubs: RHP Carl Edwards Jr. (shoulder) was activated from th eD L while R HP Dillon Map les was optioned to Triple-A Iowa. ... Minor-league RHP Oscar De La Cruz was suspended 80 games after he tested positive for Furosemide, a diuretic and masking agent.

Brewers: LHP Brent Suter landed on the DL with forearm tightness. He first reported the problem after his last start, when he gave up five runs over five innings against the Twins. RHP Aaron Wilkerson will take Suter’s scheduled turn Saturday against the Braves.

Rangers: OF Joey Gallo, who leads the team with 21 homers, was scratched from the lineup against the Tigers after injuring an eye during batting practice. Gallo and Delino DeShieldsw­ere fielding fly balls when DeShields’ glove struck Gallo’s left eye.

Braves: LHPMax Fried landed on the DL with a blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand. RHP Evan Phillips was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to take his place.
