Teenager raped in Publix bathroom; suspect arrested

HOLLYWOOD A teenage girl was raped in a Publix bathroom by a man who tried to record the attack on his cellphone, police said

Leandro Mlodziejewski, 28, was arrested at his Hollywood home Tuesday and charged with two counts of sexual battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. Bond has been set at $200,000.

The assault took place on Saturday around 9:15 p.m. at the new downtown Publix on the northeast side of Young Circle, a police report says. The teen told police she knows Mlodziejewski through her younger brother.

According to police records, Mlodziejewski picked up the victim and two others at her house that night, then drove to Publix to buy food.

Once in the store, he led her into the family restroom, pushed her against the baby changing table and forced himself on her, a police report says. Because he was trying to record the encounter with his cellphone, she was able to push him off and leave the restroom, she told police.

He caught up with her and warned her to “act normal” or he’d post the video online, she told police.
