Manager Terry Francona spent the night tossing and turning after his bullpen allowed seven runs in the ninth inning of a 7-4 loss Tuesday night to the Reds. Francona admitted there was a communication break- down. Francona wanted to bring in LHP Oliver Perez to face Joey Votto with two outs and the bases loaded with the Indians clinging to a 4-3 lead. But pitching coach Carl Willis thought he heard Francona tell him to summon RHP Dan Otero. Votto promptly hit a three-run double off Otero. “He thought I said O.T.,” Francona said, using Otero’s nickname. “I said O.P.”
