This fast-casual eatery, which debuted in Fort Lauderdale in 2016, has opened its fifth and sixth South Florida locations.
The company, which elevates macaroni and cheese from a side dish to an entrée, chose the Boca spot for its proximity to Florida Atlantic University.
“The dorms are all around us, so the location seemed like a great fit,” says Daniel Collins, president and chief development officer. “The students love our food and have asked at our other locations if we could get a spot closer to campus.”
Customers customize their mac and cheese (starting at $8.95) or grilled cheese sandwiches (starting at $9.95) in assembly-line fashion from a variety of bread and pastas, including gluten-free. Choices include vegetables, eight cheeses and nine proteins, such as short rib or pulled pork.
Mac signatures ($8.95-$17.95) include baked buffalo chicken and the Cuban with mojo pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese and dill pickles.
Sweet bites range from mini chocolatechip cookies ($1.95) to bars, brownies and marshmallow treats ($2.95).
Lunch and dinner are served daily amid red walls and metal bistro chairs. Custom-made I Heart Mac & Cheese wallpaper is a popular background for selfies and social media shots.
