This summer in South Florida, free public screenings of movies are in abundance at parks, pools and cafes.
Through mid-August, movies such as “Dazed and Confused” and “Jaws” will be shown indoors and on giant inflatable screens outdoors, along with familyfriendly films, including “Coco,” “Moana” and “Ready Player One.”
Following are some screenings for adults and families in Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties.

The theater’s Kids Summer Movie Escape Series will screen two movies Tuesdays-Thursdays starting at 10 a.m., through Thursday. Aug. 2. Next up: “Lego Ninjago Movie” and “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” Tuesday-Thursday. July 31-Aug. 2.
“Moana”

A spunky Polynesian princess, a demigod played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and songs co-written by LinManual Miranda of “Hamilton” fame highlight Disney’s animated film. It will screen on an inflatable 15-by-20-foot screen at the park at 8 p.m. tonight. While blankets, chairs and coolers are allowed, pets are not.

In case you missed Shark Week (along with South Florida’s other “Jaws” screenings), Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic about a maneating great white shark will be projected inside the FAT Village warehouse at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“Breaking Legs”

For its monthly Movies in the Park gathering, the oceanfront restaurant inside Hugh Taylor Birch State Park will feature Mark Marchillo’s 2017 dance drama about a high-school freshman who joins the school’s dance team. Screening is 8 p.m. Thursday. Leashed pets are allowed, as are blankets and chairs. Street parking is nearby, but parking inside Hugh Taylor costs $6.
“Coco”

Pixar’s animated film, about a smalltown Mexican boy who dreams of becoming a singer on the eve of Mexico’s Day of the Dead, is the featured “dive-in” screening at 8 p.m. Aug. 10. Visitors can watch from the community center’s swimming pool or from poolside.
“Dazed and Confused”
All right, all right, all right: Richard Linklater’s weed-scented comedy stars Matthew McConaughey as a misfit graduate who parties and adores the highschool girls. It will be shown 8 p.m. Aug. 16 on a 15-by-20-foot inflatable screen. Leashed pets are allowed, and parking costs $6.
