Yankees: The Yankees got RHP Lance Lynn and cash from the Twins for 1B/OF Tyler Austin and RHP Luis Rijo. Lynn (7-8, 5.10) is likely to work in long relief. He will be a free agent after the season.

Mariners: The Mariners made two trades to bolster their bullpen, acquiring veteran LHP Zach Duke and cash from the Twins for two minor-leaguers and RHP Adam Warren from the Yankees for $1.25 million in international signing bonus pool money. Duke, 35, is 3-4 with 12 holds and a 3.62 ERA in 45 games this season. Warren, 30, is 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 24 appearances. He was on the DL for six weeks with a strained back.

Royals: With his club on pace to lose 113 games, GM Dayton Moore said on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM he was “embarrassed the way our team has performed. I didn’t necessarily expect us to be in the playoffs, but I didn’t expect us to be on pace to lose 100-plus games.”

Braves: LHP Sean Newcomb apologized to his teammates for offensive tweets he sent as a teen. Newcomb spoke to players, coaches, manager Brian Snitker and staff members. Ender Inciarte and Dansby Swanson said players accepted the apology. Inciarte said Newcomb is “one of the best teammates I’ve ever had.” Swanson said “we’ve got nothing but love for him.”

Dodgers: All-Star RHP Ross Stripling went on the DL. He was listed with a toe injury, but he has been showing signs of fatigue. RHP Dylan Floro was recalled.

Giants: RHP Johnny Cueto was put back on the DL with a sprained right elbow. The Giants also put INF Pablo Sandoval on the DL with a strained hamstring, reinstated 2B Joe Panik and recalled INF Kelby Tomlinson.

Orioles: It’s unclear whether OF Adam Jones will be traded, but “the club is in rebuild mode,” executive Dan Duquette said. He said Jones, who can veto any deal, wants to stay. “His contract is up,” Duquette said. “The club is going in the direction of younger ballplayers. I can tell you that.”
