The back-to-school tax holiday is today through Sunday, bringing with it a ton of events and giveaways for students. Many malls have special deals and programs for the weekend, and there are county- and city-sponsored programs for kids.

Our top events for families in South Florida this weekend include the following:

R.A.D. Kids Personal Empowermen­t Safety Education, Friday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The program strengthen­s family, encourages physical fitness, teaches realistic physical skills and core safety values through lectures, drills and physical instructio­n.
