Singing the praises of garlic crusted salmon

- Claire Perez

Q. My friends and I often enjoy the garlic crusted salmon at Tavolino de Notte on Sample Road in Coral Springs. It is super moist and served on a bed of spinach with a light sauce. Is there any chance that you could please get the recipe for us? — Ellie Cohen, Coral Springs

A. Over the years, Ed Pozzuoli, owner of Tavolino Della Notte or “Little Table of the Night” (10181 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs; 954-509-0046, tavolinorestaurant.com), has always generously shared his diners’ favorite recipes starting back in 2012 with his wildly popular Sicilian almond amaretto cookies. Tavolino Della Notte’s Snapper Francese and Escarole and beans followed, but it’s been four years since we spoke. That was right around the same time Pozzuoli expanded next door and started booking world-class musicians in his intimate lounge venue. The club offers the same menu as the dining room next door, a full bar and a limited late-night menu.

When I called to speak with Ed the hostess asked, “Senior or Junior?” After finishing college in Fort Myers, Eddie Pozzuoli IV returned home and took over the day-to-day operations of the family business in 2013. Senior still keeps tabs on the restaurant but now focuses his time on booking the entertainment, feeding his personal passion for jazz and blues. You can catch live musical acts Thursday through Sunday and occasionally comedians on Wednesdays. Check the website for up-to-date schedules.
