Napa Valley has its Wine Train. And now, South Florida has the Tasting Train.

Brightline, the rail service that runs between Miami and West Palm Beach, has launched a series of food and wine events aboard a train and at its Miami station. The next Tasting Train, on Oct. 5, is billed as a trip to Tuscany, featuring the wines of famed Italian producer Antinori. Tickets cost $150 or $200, a luxury tier featuring premium wines. The event is restricted to those 21 and older.

How does it work?

Sort of like a regular train trip, only more expensive and with plenty of sips and bites to keep riders happy. The Oct. 5 Tasting Train, with wine flowing, departs West Palm Beach at 7 p.m., and Fort Lauderdale at

7:39 p.m. The train arrives in Miami at 8:14 p.m. Riders spend the next 89 minutes at the Miami station’s Select Lounge, which will feature food and wine stations and live music. The train returns north at 9:43 p.m., arriving in Fort Lauderdale at 10:11 p.m., and West Palm Beach at 10:57 p.m.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com. Brightline also offers a $100 option for those who want to skip the ride and partake at the Miami station. Rail tickets are priced the same regardless of boarding station.

What’s on the menu?

Expect Italian bites such as pastas, cheeses and meats that pair well with Antinori’s signature Chianti wines.

Where do passengers board?

The Brightline station in West Palm Beach is at 260 S. Quadrille Blvd. The Fort Lauderdale Brightline station is at 101 NW Second Ave. Tasting Train passengers should arrive 30 minutes before departure for security screening and must show valid ID/ proof of age before boarding.
