There have been some changes to the top 10 in the Palm and Broward football rankings.

With wins over three other top Palm Beach County teams, Atlantic has shown that it’s the team to beat right now.

Here is a look at the top 10 teams in Palm Beach County. All games are at 6 p.m. Friday unless otherwise noted.

1. (1) ATLANTIC (4-0)

The Class 8A state runners-up have made it through a gauntlet of a first-half stretch, shutting out Palm Beach Central and handling Dwyer, Pahokee and Park Vista.

2. (3) DWYER (4-1)

A disappoint­ing loss to Atlantic didn’t derail the Panthers’ season, and they’ve followed it up with three solid wins against Glades Central, Palm Beach Lakes and rival Palm Beach Gardens.

3. (2) PALM BEACH CENTRAL (4-1)

The Broncos go back to district play this week after traveling to face Palm Bay and coming out with a 20-12 victory.

Next: vs. Boca Raton

4. (5) PAHOKEE (2-2)

The Blue Devils have had mixed results thus far, but their two losses have come at the hands of Atlantic and Vero Beach.

5. (6) AMERICAN HERITAGE-DELRAY (4-0)

After two down seasons, the Stallions are off to a great start, scoring 35 points or more in all four of their wins.

Next: at Pensacola Catholic, 7:30 p.m.

6. (7) SEMINOLE RIDGE (4-0)

Under new coach Rick Casko, the Hawks narrowly defeated district rival Palm Beach Gardens and exploded for 63 points against Boynton Beach. This week’s game at Wellington could be telling.

7. (4) FOREST HILL (5-0)

The Falcons have taken advantage of an easy schedule, beating five opponents with a combined record of 5-19. But you play who’s on the schedule, and Forest Hill has won easily each time.

8. (NR) WELLINGTON (3-2)

The Wolverines responded to a beat down from rival Palm Beach Central by defeating overmatche­d John I. Leonard by four touchdowns. Wellington’s home game against Ridge on Friday could very well decide how the rest of the season goes for the Wolverines and District 9-8A. Next: vs. Seminole Ridge

9. (NR) CARDINAL NEWMAN (4-1)

The Crusaders have responded well to new coach Joe Molina. Led by running back Chris D’Or, Newman has scored 40 or more points in all of its wins, and its lone loss is to Pahokee.

10. (NR) BENJAMIN (5-0)

First-year coach Eric Kresser has the Buccaneers out to their first 5-0 start in more than 15 years. Next: at Pine Crest, 7 p.m.

Broward football Top 10

Deerfield Beach remained undefeated this week and skips past St. Thomas Aquinas in the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s latest rankings of the top 10 teams in Broward County.

All of this week’s games are Friday at 7 p.m. unless noted.

1. (2) DEERFIELD BEACH (5-0)

The nationally ranked Bucks rolled past Coral Springs 55-6 as Jaylan Knighton (239 yards, 2 TDs) and Derohn King (153 yards passing, 5 TDs) spearheade­d the rout.

2. (1) ST. THOMAS AQUINAS (4-1)

The nationally ranked Raiders dropped a 43-37 decision to Miami-Dade County powerhouse Miami Central.

The Patriots topped Chaminade-Madonna 31-21 behind the running tandem of Lavelton Williams and Tyler Jones and have a week off before taking on Stranahan at home.

4. (5) CARDINAL GIBBONS (3-2)

The Chiefs scored on their first four possession­s in a 45-8 win on the road over Stoneman Douglas for their third consecutiv­e victory.

5. (4) CHAMINADE-MADONNA (3-2)

The Lions fell to American Heritage 31-21 in a matchup of defending state champions in their respective classes.

6. (6) UNIVERSITY SCHOOL (5-0)

The Sharks blanked visiting Monsignor Pace at home 49-0 behind a strong defensive effort from defensive lineman Jalen Reeves (4 tackles, 2 sacks and a tackle for loss). The Sharks have the week off before facing unbeaten American Heritage-Delray (4-0) at home.

7. (7) PLANTATION (4-0)

The Colonels remained unbeaten with a 50-3 mauling of Cypress Bay at home to remain in a tie for the District 12-8A lead.

8. (8) MIRAMAR (1-3)

Miramar picked up its first win of the season as the Patriots accounted for 356 total yards on offense, led by Cedquan Smith (133 yards passing, 2 TDs) and Cliffton Miller (8 carries for 105 yards, TD), as they rolled past South Plantation 47-6 in a key District 12-8A win.

9. (9) DILLARD (3-2)

The Panthers had a fumble return for a TD, fumble recovery for a TD and a punt return for a TD as they rolled past Hollywood Hills 50-15 at home.

Next: vs. Stranahan (Saturday)

10. (10) WESTERN (4-1)

The Wildcats got off to a quick start and doubled up Flanagan 38-19 for their fourth win of the season to keep pace with Plantation in the District 12-8A standings.
