Film series projected on wall of New World Center
One of many glorious things about the New World Center on Miami Beach is not merely what happens inside during performances of the New World Symphony, but what happens outside, on the side of the building facing Sound Scape Park.
This lovely, sound-enhanced space is where the symphony offers its most dramatic form of outreach, literally, with its series of Wallcasts — projections on the side of the New World Center that allow picnicking viewers to watch free, simulcast performances on a 7,000-square-foot wall.
Another treat is Citi Cinema Series at Sound Scape, which offers free 8 p.m. Wednesday screenings of a wide variety of films on a massive scale from October through May. Opening Oct. 3, the 2018-2019 schedule for the series ranges from family-oriented fare such as “Mary Poppins” and superhero epics “Black Panther” and “Wonder Woman” to art-house favorites “Babette's Feast,” “Days of Heaven” and “Fitzcarraldo.”
